Investing.com — The domestic market ended a volatile session higher on Friday, ending the week almost 2% higher. Indian equity benchmark indices closed the session up to 0.2% in green.
The NSE barometer closed the session north of the 17,000 level at 17,833.35 for the first time since January 2022, while the 30-scrip index surpassed the key psychological 60,000 mark for the first time in three weeks on Friday.
Indian equities mirrored strong global cues, though profit booking later in the session capped further upside.
A total of 191 stocks hit fresh 52-week highs in the day, while a rebound in IT, banking and auto sectors supported the market sentiment.
Three out of twelve stocks listed under the sectoral index hit new 52-week highs, namely State Bank of India (NS:), ICICI Bank (NS:) and Bank of Baroda (NS:).
Some of the other stocks recording fresh 52-week highs on Friday include:
- Ambuja Cements (NS:)
- Adani Enterprises (NS:)
- Adani (NS:) Ports and Special Economic Zone
- Yes Bank (NS:)
- Aditya Birla Fashion (NS:) and Retail
- Hindustan Aeronautics (NS:)
