Investing.com — Ace investor Radhakishan Damani has climbed up two ranks and become the fifth richest person in India, as per IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022 released on Wednesday.
The 67-year-old investor and founder of the Mumbai-based retail chain Avenue Supermarts (NS:) has added Rs 1,28,800 crore to his wealth in the past five years, translating to a whopping 280%.
According to data from the rich list, Gautam Adani (NS:) & family’s wealth jumped 15.4 times to Rs 10,94,400 crore in the past five years, the richest in India.
Further, Radhakishan Damani’s wealth surged 13% in a year to Rs 1,75,100, and as per data, he earned Rs 57 crore every day.
The star investor holds a majority stake in the retail major DMart and has significant holdings in the conglomerate VST Industries (NS:), India Cements (NS:), Metropolis Healthcare (NS:), Trent (NS:) and United Breweries (NS:), among others.
The IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022 also showed that as many as 149 individuals debuted on the list this year.
