The biggest gainers of the session on the were Home Depot Inc (NYSE:), which rose 0.67% or 1.80 points to trade at 270.94 at the close. Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:) added 0.32% or 0.54 points to end at 166.72 and Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) was down 0.34% or 0.78 points to 226.97 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Chevron Corp (NYSE:), which lost 6.53% or 10.12 points to trade at 144.77 in late trade. Boeing Co (NYSE:) declined 5.37% or 7.45 points to end at 131.26 and Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:) shed 3.70% or 6.31 points to 164.24.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Generac Holdlings Inc (NYSE:) which rose 3.21% to 176.57, Domino’s Pizza Inc (NYSE:) which was up 3.10% to settle at 330.06 and IDEXX Laboratories Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 2.49% to close at 334.20.
The worst performers were APA Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was down 11.43% to 32.87 in late trade, Marathon Oil Corporation (NYSE:) which lost 10.94% to settle at 21.90 and DXC Technology Co (NYSE:) which was down 9.32% to 23.85 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Golden Sun Education Group Ltd (NASDAQ:) which rose 92.05% to 52.89, Kiromic Biopharma Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 46.43% to settle at 0.38 and Athersys Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 39.32% to close at 1.63.
The worst performers were Ucommune International Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was down 42.42% to 3.00 in late trade, Color Star Technology Co Ltd (NASDAQ:) which lost 33.83% to settle at 0.04 and Spectrum Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 32.65% to 0.43 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 2838 to 365 and 90 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 3027 fell and 788 advanced, while 226 ended unchanged on the New York Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.77% or 29.75 to $1,651.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 5.17% or 4.32 to hit $79.17 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.31% or 3.90 to trade at $86.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.47% to 0.97, while USD/JPY rose 0.69% to 143.34.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.50% at 112.77.
