Investing.com – U.S. equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in NYSE, the lost 1.11% to hit a new 52-week low, while the index fell 1.03%, and the index lost 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the were Walmart Inc (NYSE:), which rose 0.96% or 1.25 points to trade at 131.31 at the close. Apple Inc (NASDAQ:) added 0.23% or 0.34 points to end at 150.77 and Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:) was up 0.10% or 0.13 points to 135.71 in late trade.
Biggest losers included The Travelers Companies Inc (NYSE:), which lost 3.14% or 4.88 points to trade at 150.60 in late trade. Boeing Co (NYSE:) declined 2.99% or 3.92 points to end at 127.34 and Chevron Corp (NYSE:) shed 2.63% or 3.81 points to 140.96.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Wynn Resorts Limited (NASDAQ:) which rose 11.99% to 66.80, Las Vegas Sands Corp (NYSE:) which was up 11.81% to settle at 39.66 and Costco Wholesale Corp (NASDAQ:) which gained 2.98% to close at 480.30.
The worst performers were DISH Network Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was down 6.12% to 14.27 in late trade, The AES Corporation (NYSE:) which lost 5.48% to settle at 22.96 and Halliburton Company (NYSE:) which was down 5.17% to 23.31 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were LAVA Therapeutics NV (NASDAQ:) which rose 97.50% to 4.74, DIRTT Environmental Solutions Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was up 42.87% to settle at 0.45 and Panbela Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 25.96% to close at 0.34.
The worst performers were Powerbridge Technologies Co Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was down 68.57% to 0.50 in late trade, Scienjoy Holding Corp (NASDAQ:) which lost 43.77% to settle at 1.67 and Snow Lake Resources Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was down 40.88% to 1.88 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 2674 to 535 and 129 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2593 fell and 1248 advanced, while 274 ended unchanged on the New York Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.57% or 26.05 to $1,629.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.88% or 2.27 to hit $76.47 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.85% or 2.42 to trade at $82.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.85% to 0.96, while USD/JPY rose 0.94% to 144.66.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.99% at 114.07.
