AUSTRALIA fought back to defeat Scotland 16-15 at Murrayfield as the Autumn Internationals got underway.

The visitors sealed the narrow win with captain James Slipper crossing the line and Bernard Foley kicking three penalties and one conversion.

Though the hosts could have won it themselves with Blair Kinghorn missing a dramatic last-minute penalty.

Kinghorn had put in a stunning performance up until then, recording 10 points with a try, conversion and penalty in the loss.

    Wallabies skipper James Slipper was awarded the man of the match award today as he led his side to victory.

    Visits to any Northern hemisphere side has not been easy going for Australia of late.

    Dave Rennie’s side have made the perfect start to their European tour.

    It is such a shame that Scotland could not gain the win they craved from the position of strength they managed to get themselves into in the second half.

    The try by Blair Kinghorn was good enough to win any game.

    Sadly, the player will be counting the cost of his missed penalty.

    Indiscipline cost them, going down to 14 players and allowing the all golds back into the game.

    Even with that said, Scotland had a chance with a late penalty but it summed up Kinghorn’s kicking game today.
